We had an excellent experience with Argen Builders. We had our tub and surrounding walls removed and replaced with a new tub, subway tiles, and a marble niche. Having two young children (ages 1.5 and 3) I was very apprehensive to have people in the house during Covid times. However, during the entire duration of their work, the entire team always wore masks and took precautions. They were extremely friendly, and we felt very safe. Argen remained on schedule and were able to complete the job within six days. There were a couple small issues that arose, and they were able to deliver creative solutions. They communicated with me throughout the entire process. The completed work is flawless and looks incredible. They cleaned up after the completion of the work, disposing of materials, and even wiped down the floor and counters of the bathroom. I hired Argen for a year-long, full-house renovation and addition after vetting six other larger and smaller contractors. In my opinion Argen is a unique mid-size contractor in their ability to provide comprehensive and competitive service relative to the NY/NJ market (see update-history below). Luis Gonzalez has assembled a team of longstanding staff and major subcontractors from more than 15 years of steady work in the region. They had an extensive list of references who could verify their reliability first-hand - I found no other GCs with similar, immediately-accessible references. I was actively involved in design, planning and some materials sourcing; others may choose a more turnkey approach. Some of Argen's finish work is exceptional and some needs supervision and follow-up. Overall though I found 1) Argen is extremely responsive to feedback and reasonable requests, and 2) they are flexible problem solvers without cutting critical corners. Communication is not seamless but Luis and project leads like Osmeli are fast, accessible, courteous and smart. They did an excellent job for us. I have always been told you can only have two out of three of the following: cost, quality, or price. However, we really did get all three. They were amazingly fast, even scarily so. When I told them I wanted to remove a wall, it was gone the next day. The whole process was very easy and the owner Luis is super nice. He is very easy to deal with and made everything work great. Their prices were very fair and I never felt like I was going to get a nasty surprise or taken advantage of. I was looking to renovate my small kitchen and bathroom and found Argen Build after several attempts to get in touch with other contractors. A few never answered the phone and the others said they would get back to me but never did. When I contacted Argen Build I spoke to Luis who is the owner, I told him my situation and he said he would come by the next day and he did. When he was running a little late he called me to let me know, which shows he is courteous and professional. Something as simple as a phone call or text can go a long way. When he arrived he made some good suggestions and gave me a fair estimate for the project. From there I mostly dealt with Osmeli who works with Luis. She was such a pleasure to deal with and was always available when I had questions or concerns. She was extremely helpful throughout the entire project. Once the actual work began, the crew was very polite and they always cleaned up after they were done. They did an amazing job on both the kitchen and bathroom, I couldn't be more happy with the results. Luis and his crew led by Mr Franco performed a kitchen remodel (entire gut job). Crew was very professional and knew what they were doing. Everything from start to finish ran smoothly.
